Application

KM0 silicate paint is designed for coating walls and ceilings in areas with high fire safety requirements — including high-rise buildings, evacuation routes, schools and healthcare facilities, concert halls, corridors, elevators, basements, warehouses, garages, business centers, retail spaces, and similar applications.

Substrate Preparation:

Recommended for application on concrete, brick, plastered, and filled surfaces, gypsum board, particleboard, and fiberboard, as well as over water-dispersive paints.

For a high-quality final finish, pre-priming of the surface with 1 or 2 coats is mandatory:

• For non-gypsum substrates — use Osnovit Techno Tekkont LST57 silicate primer.

• For gypsum substrates or polymer-based fillers applied over gypsum and sanded flush — must be treated with Osnovit Techno Tekkont LP58 covering primer.

Application on newly prepared substrates:

• On concrete: not earlier than 28 days after pouring.

• On cement, cement-lime leveling and finishing plasters and fillers: not earlier than 14 days.

• On cement-based decorative plasters: not earlier than 7 days.

Before painting, all elements and surfaces not intended for coating (glass, wood, metal, plastic) must be thoroughly protected.

Coloring:

Base A may be used as a white paint. Base C is intended only for tinted applications. Coloration must be performed using mineral pigments only.

Computerized coloring is permitted exclusively within the Osnovit system, using Osnovit pigment pastes to match colors from the Osnovit ColorChart, NCS, RAL, and other standard palettes, with a maximum pigment dosage of 1.5% by mass.

Use of water-dispersive pigment pastes exceeding the recommended limit is strictly prohibited — it may compromise the fire safety classification KM0 (Non-Combustible, NG).

Osnovit assumes no liability for results achieved using any other coloring method.

Please note: The same color may appear differently depending on the substrate’s type and texture, as well as lighting conditions and time of day.

Before full-scale application, we recommend testing the paint on a small area of the substrate to verify color accuracy and appearance.
